³ Those who are left in Zion,^(A) who remain^(B) in Jerusalem, will be called holy,^(C) all who are recorded^(D) among the living in Jerusalem. ⁴ The Lord will wash away the filth^(E) of the women of Zion;^(F) he will cleanse^(G) the bloodstains^(H) from Jerusalem by a spirit^[a] of judgment^(I) and a spirit^[b] of fire.^(J)

¹⁵ Then the angel said to me, “The waters^(A) you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.^{(B) 16} The beast and the ten horns^(C) you saw will hate the prostitute.^(D) They will bring her to ruin^(E) and leave her naked;^(F) they will eat her flesh^(G) and burn her with fire.^{(H) 17} For God has put it into their hearts^(I) to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority,^(J) until God’s words are fulfilled.^{(K) 18} The woman you saw is the great city^(L) that rules over the kings of the earth.”

² I will gather all the nations^(A) to Jerusalem to fight against it;^(B) the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped.^(C) Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.^{(D) 3} Then the Lord will go out and fight^(E) against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle.^{(F) 4} On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,^(G) east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split^(H) in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.
