^8 (A)Be of sober spirit, ^(B)be on the alert. Your adversary, ^(C)the devil, prowls around like a roaring ^(D)lion, seeking someone to devour. ^9 [a](E)So resist him, ^(F)firm in your faith, knowing that ^(G)the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your ^[b]brothers and sisters who are in the world.

³³ These things I have spoken to you so that ^(A)in Me you may have peace. ^(B)In the world you have tribulation, but ^(C)take courage; ^(D)I have overcome the world.”

⁸ Love never fails; but if there are gifts of ^[a](A)prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are ^(B)tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with. ⁹ For we ^(C)know in part and prophesy in part; ¹⁰ but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away with. ¹¹ When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I ^[b]became a man, I did away with childish things. ¹² For now we ^(D)see in a mirror ^[c]dimly, but then ^(E)face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also ^(F)have been fully known. ¹³ But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the ^[d]greatest of these is ^(G)love.
