Hosea 10:7-9

New International Version

⁷Samaria’s king will be destroyed,^(A)
    swept away like a twig on the surface of the waters.
⁸The high places^(B) of wickedness^[a]^(C) will be destroyed—
    it is the sin of Israel.
Thorns^(D) and thistles will grow up
    and cover their altars.^(E)
Then they will say to the mountains, “Cover us!”^(F)
    and to the hills, “Fall on us!”^(G)

⁹“Since the days of Gibeah,^(H) you have sinned,^(I) Israel,
and there you have remained.^[b]
Will not war again overtake
the evildoers in Gibeah?
