16 “In that day,” declares the Lord,
    “you will call me ‘my husband’;(A)
    you will no longer call me ‘my master.[a]
17 I will remove the names of the Baals from her lips;(B)
    no longer will their names be invoked.(C)
18 In that day I will make a covenant for them
    with the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
    and the creatures that move along the ground.(D)
Bow and sword and battle
    I will abolish(E) from the land,
    so that all may lie down in safety.(F)
19 I will betroth(G) you to me forever;
    I will betroth you in[b] righteousness and justice,(H)
    in[c] love and compassion.(I)
20 I will betroth you in[d] faithfulness,
    and you will acknowledge(J) the Lord.(K)

21 “In that day I will respond,”
    declares the Lord
“I will respond(L) to the skies,
    and they will respond to the earth;
22 and the earth will respond to the grain,
    the new wine and the olive oil,(M)
    and they will respond to Jezreel.[e](N)

20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.

21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;

22 And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.
