⁸ Son^(A) though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered^{(B) 9} and, once made perfect,^(C) he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him ¹⁰ and was designated by God to be high priest^(D) in the order of Melchizedek.^(E)

² fixing our eyes on Jesus,^(A) the pioneer^(B) and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross,^(C) scorning its shame,^(D) and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.^(E)
