9 It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered (A)which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience— 10 concerned only with (B)foods and drinks, (C)various [a]washings, (D)and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.

11 But Christ came as High Priest of (E)the good things [b]to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.

9 This is an illustration(A) for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered(B) were not able to clear the conscience(C) of the worshiper. 10 They are only a matter of food(D) and drink(E) and various ceremonial washings(F)—external regulations(G) applying until the time of the new order.
