¹⁴ Therefore, since the children share in ^[a](A)flesh and blood, ^(B)He Himself likewise also partook of the same, so that ^(C)through death He might destroy ^(D)the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, ¹⁵ and free those who through ^(E)fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. ¹⁶ For clearly He does not ^[b]give help to angels, but He gives help to the ^[c]descendants of Abraham.

²⁷ to ^(A)a virgin ^[a]betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, ^(B)of the ^[b]descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was ^[c]Mary.

³¹ And behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you ^(A)shall name Him Jesus.

³⁴ But Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I ^[a]am a virgin?”

³⁵ The angel answered and said to her, “^(A)The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of ^(B)the Most High will overshadow you; for that reason also ^(C)the ^[a]holy Child will be called ^(D)the Son of God.

⁴² And she cried out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

⁴ But when ^(A)the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, ^(B)born of a woman, born ^(C)under ^[a]the Law,

¹⁵ For we do not have ^(A)a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been ^(B)tempted in all things just as we are, yet ^(C)without sin.
