¹² so that you will not be sluggish, but ^(A)imitators of those who through ^(B)faith and endurance ^(C)inherit the promises.

¹³ For ^(D)when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear an oath by no one greater, He ^(E)swore by Himself, ¹⁴ saying, “^(F)indeed I will greatly bless you and I will greatly multiply you.” ¹⁵ And so, ^(G)having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.

³ knowing that ^(A)the testing of your ^(B)faith produces ^[a](C)endurance. ⁴ And let ^[b](D)endurance have its perfect ^[c]result, so that you may be ^[d](E)perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

²² But ^(A)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(B)love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, ^(C)self-control; against such things ^(D)there is no law.

Exhortation

⁷ Therefore be patient, ^(A)brothers and sisters, ^(B)until the coming of the Lord. ^(C)The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until ^[a]it gets ^(D)the early and late rains. ^8 (E)You too be patient; ^(F)strengthen your hearts, for ^(G)the coming of the Lord is ^(H)near.

²² Now ^(A)flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, ^(B)faith, love, and peace with those who ^(C)call on the Lord ^(D)from a pure heart.
