^6 (A)In this you greatly rejoice, even though now ^(B)for a little while, ^(C)if necessary, you have been distressed by ^(D)various ^[a]trials, ⁷ so that the ^[b](E)proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which perishes ^(F)though tested by fire, ^(G)may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at ^(H)the revelation of Jesus Christ;

^3 (A)And not only this, but ^[a]we also ^(B)celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about ^(C)perseverance; ⁴ and ^(D)perseverance, ^(E)proven character; and proven character, hope;

³ knowing that ^(A)the testing of your ^(B)faith produces ^[a](C)endurance. ⁴ And let ^[b](D)endurance have its perfect ^[c]result, so that you may be ^[d](E)perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
