¹⁰ God said to him, “Your name is Jacob,^[a] but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel.^[b]”^(A) So he named him Israel.

¹¹ And God said to him, “I am God Almighty^[c];^(B) be fruitful and increase in number.^(C) A nation^(D) and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will be among your descendants.^(E)

²⁴ The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.^{(A) 25} On no day will its gates^(B) ever be shut,^(C) for there will be no night there.^{(D) 26} The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.^(E)

⁴ Then I heard the number^(A) of those who were sealed: 144,000^(B) from all the tribes of Israel.

The Great Multitude in White Robes

⁹ After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language,^(C) standing before the throne^(D) and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes^(E) and were holding palm branches in their hands.

⁵ She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”^[a](A) And her child was snatched up^(B) to God and to his throne.
