²⁰ And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers.^(A) He will be the father of twelve rulers,^(B) and I will make him into a great nation.^(C)

¹³ These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, listed in the order of their birth: Nebaioth^(A) the firstborn of Ishmael, Kedar,^(B) Adbeel, Mibsam, ¹⁴ Mishma, Dumah,^(C) Massa, ¹⁵ Hadad, Tema,^(D) Jetur,^(E) Naphish and Kedemah. ¹⁶ These were the sons of Ishmael, and these are the names of the twelve tribal rulers^(F) according to their settlements and camps.^{(G) 17} Ishmael lived a hundred and thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and he was gathered to his people.^{(H) 18} His descendants^(I) settled in the area from Havilah to Shur,^(J) near the eastern border of Egypt, as you go toward Ashur. And they lived in hostility toward^[a] all the tribes related to them.^(K)

¹¹ The angel of the Lord^(A) also said to her:

²⁴ In that day^(A) Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria,^(B) a blessing^[a](C) on the earth. ²⁵ The Lord Almighty will bless^(D) them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people,^(E) Assyria my handiwork,^(F) and Israel my inheritance.^(G)”

²¹ So the Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day they will acknowledge^(A) the Lord. They will worship^(B) with sacrifices and grain offerings; they will make vows to the Lord and keep them.^{(C) 22} The Lord will strike^(D) Egypt with a plague;^(E) he will strike them and heal them. They will turn^(F) to the Lord, and he will respond to their pleas and heal^(G) them.

²³ In that day^(H) there will be a highway^(I) from Egypt to Assyria.^(J) The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship^(K) together. ²⁴ In that day^(L) Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria,^(M) a blessing^[a](N) on the earth. ²⁵ The Lord Almighty will bless^(O) them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people,^(P) Assyria my handiwork,^(Q) and Israel my inheritance.^(R)”
