But (A)Noah (B)found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a (C)righteous man, [a](D)blameless in his generation. Noah (E)walked with God. 10 And Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 Now the earth was (F)corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was (G)filled with violence. 12 And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for [b](H)humanity had corrupted its way upon the earth.

13 Then God said to Noah, “(I)The end of [c]humanity has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of [d]people; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. 14 Make for yourself an ark of [e]gopher wood; you shall make the ark with compartments, and [f]cover it inside and out with pitch.

Noah and the Flood

This is the account(C) of Noah and his family.

Noah was a righteous man, blameless(D) among the people of his time,(E) and he walked faithfully with God.(F) 10 Noah had three sons: Shem,(G) Ham and Japheth.(H)

11 Now the earth was corrupt(I) in God’s sight and was full of violence.(J) 12 God saw how corrupt(K) the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.(L) 13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy(M) both them and the earth.(N) 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress[a] wood;(O) make rooms in it and coat it with pitch(P) inside and out.
