¶ And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for certainly he is flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.

¶ There were giants in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore sons to them, the same became mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

The Nephilim(D) were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans(E) and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.(F)

The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth,(G) and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.(H)
