Israel Settles in Goshen

²⁷ Israel settled in the land of Egypt, in the region of Goshen. They acquired property in it and became fruitful and very numerous.^(A)

⁷ But the Israelites were fruitful, increased rapidly, multiplied, and became extremely numerous^(A) so that the land was filled with them.

⁹ He said to his people, “Look, the Israelite people are more numerous and powerful than we are.^(A)

¹³ Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Israel—you swore to them by yourself^(A) and declared, ‘I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and will give your offspring all this land that I have promised, and they will inherit it forever.’”^(B)
