25 Adam made love to his wife(A) again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth,[a](B) saying, “God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.”(C) 26 Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh.(D)

At that time people began to call on[b] the name of the Lord.(E)

From Adam to Noah

This is the written account(F) of Adam’s family line.(G)

When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.(H) He created them(I) male and female(J) and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind”[c] when they were created.

When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image;(K) and he named him Seth.(L) After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.(M)

When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father[d] of Enosh.(N) After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.

25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:

And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:

And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:

And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
