There he built an altar,(A) and he called the place El Bethel,[a](B) because it was there that God revealed himself to him(C) when he was fleeing from his brother.(D)

Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse,(E) died and was buried under the oak(F) outside Bethel.(G) So it was named Allon Bakuth.[b]

After Jacob returned from Paddan Aram,[c](H) God appeared to him again and blessed him.(I)
