³⁰ Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, “You have ^(A)brought trouble on me by ^(B)making me repulsive among the inhabitants of the land, among ^(C)the Canaanites and the Perizzites; and ^[a](D)since my men are few in number, they will band together against me and ^[b]attack me, and I will be destroyed, I and my household!”

²¹ And ^(A)they said to them, “^(B)May the Lord look upon you and judge you, because you have ^(C)made ^[a]us repulsive in Pharaoh’s sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us!”

⁶ Now when the sons of Ammon saw that ^(A)they had become repulsive to David, the sons of Ammon sent messengers and ^(B)hired the Arameans of ^(C)Beth-rehob and the ^(D)Arameans of Zobah, twenty thousand foot soldiers, and the king of ^(E)Maacah with a thousand men, and the men of Tob with twelve thousand men.
