³⁰ Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stuff, for I am famished!” (Therefore he was called Edom.^[a])

¹⁴ Let my lord pass on ahead of his servant, and I will lead on slowly, according to the pace of the cattle that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord in Seir.”^(A)

¹⁶ So Esau returned that day on his way to Seir.

⁸ So Esau settled in the hill country of Seir; Esau is Edom.^(A)

⁹ These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of the Edomites, in the hill country of Seir.
