10 Then the servant left, taking with him ten of his master’s camels(A) loaded with all kinds of good things(B) from his master. He set out for Aram Naharaim[a](C) and made his way to the town of Nahor.(D) 11 He had the camels kneel down near the well(E) outside the town; it was toward evening, the time the women go out to draw water.(F)
12 Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham,(G) make me successful(H) today, and show kindness(I) to my master Abraham. 13 See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water.(J) 14 May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink,(K) and I’ll water your camels too’(L)—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac.(M) By this I will know(N) that you have shown kindness to my master.”

10 Robul a luat zece cămile dintre cămilele stăpânului său şi a plecat, având(A) cu el toate lucrurile de preţ ale stăpânului său. S-a sculat şi a plecat în Mesopotamia, în cetatea(B) lui Nahor. 11 A lăsat cămilele să se odihnească, în genunchi, afară din cetate, lângă o fântână. Era seara, pe vremea când ies femeile(C) să scoată apă. 12 Şi a zis: „Doamne, Dumnezeul(D) stăpânului meu Avraam! Te rog, dă-mi izbândă(E) astăzi şi îndură-Te de stăpânul meu Avraam. 13 Iată, stau(F) lângă izvorul acesta de apă, şi fetele(G) oamenilor din cetate vin să scoată apă. 14 Fă ca fata căreia îi voi zice: ‘Pleacă-ţi vadra, te rog, ca să beau’ şi care va răspunde: ‘Bea şi am să dau de băut şi cămilelor tale’ să fie aceea pe care ai rânduit-o Tu pentru robul Tău Isaac! Şi prin aceasta(H) voi cunoaşte că Te-ai îndurat de stăpânul meu.”

10 El a luat zece dintre cămilele stăpânului său şi tot felul de daruri alese şi a plecat fără întârziere spre Aram-Naharayim[a], spre cetatea lui Nahor. 11 A lăsat cămilele să se aşeze în afara cetăţii, lângă izvorul de apă – era spre seară, la ceasul când femeile veneau să scoată apă – 12 apoi s-a rugat: „Doamne, Dumnezeul stăpânului meu Avraam, Te rog, împlineşte-mi astăzi dorinţa şi arată-Ţi îndurarea faţă de stăpânul meu, Avraam. 13 Acum stau lângă acest izvor de apă, iar fiicele oamenilor din cetate vor veni să scoată apă. 14 Fie ca fata căreia îi voi spune: «Te rog, dă-mi vasul tău ca să beau» şi care îmi va răspunde: «Bea! şi-ţi voi adăpa şi cămilele», aceea să fie fata pe care ai ales-o pentru slujitorul Tău Isaac. Prin aceasta voi cunoaşte că Ţi-ai arătat îndurarea faţă de stăpânul meu.“

10 And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.
11 And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.
12 And he said O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.
13 Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:
14 And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.
