⁹ God said to Abraham, “As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations. ¹⁰ This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.^{(A) 11} You shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you.^(B)

² Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the time of which God had spoken to him.^{(A) 3} Abraham gave the name Isaac to his son whom Sarah bore him.^{(B) 4} And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.^(C)

²⁶ Afterward his brother came out, with his hand gripping Esau’s heel, so he was named Jacob.^[a] Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.^(A)
