¹⁵ Canaan fathered ^(A)Sidon, his firstborn, and ^(B)Heth,

^19 (A)The territory of the Canaanite ^[a]extended from Sidon ^[b]going toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; and ^[c]going toward ^(B)Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

⁸ And the Lord handed them over to Israel, so that they ^[a]defeated them, and pursued them as far as Great Sidon, and ^(A)Misrephoth-maim, and the Valley of ^(B)Mizpeh to the east; and they struck them until no survivor was left to them.

⁶ Then the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, and ^(A)they served the Baals and the Ashtaroth, the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, ^(B)the gods of the sons of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; so ^(C)they abandoned the Lord and did not serve Him.

³ and send ^[a]word to the king of ^(A)Edom, the king of ^(B)Moab, the king of the sons of ^(C)Ammon, the king of ^(D)Tyre, and to the king of ^(E)Sidon ^[b]by the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.
