Genesis 4:6-8
New American Standard Bible
6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “(A)Why are you angry? And why is your face [a]gloomy? 7 (B)If you do well, [b]will your face not be [c]cheerful? (C)And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; and its desire is for you, (D)but you must master it.” 8 Cain [d]talked to his brother Abel; and it happened that when they were in the field Cain rose up against his brother Abel and (E)killed him.

New International Version
6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry?(A) Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door;(B) it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.(C)”
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[a] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.(D)
