So then, does He who (A)provides you with the Spirit and (B)works [a]miracles among you, do it by works of [b]the Law, or by (C)hearing [c]with faith?

Just as (D)Abraham (E)believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. Therefore, recognize that (F)it is those who are of faith who are (G)sons of Abraham. The Scripture, foreseeing that God [d]would justify the [e]Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “(H)All the nations will be blessed in you.” So then, (I)those who are of faith are blessed with [f]Abraham, the believer.

10 For all who are of works of [g]the Law are under a curse; for it is written: “(J)Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all the things written in the book of the Law, to do them.” 11 Now, that (K)no one is justified [h]by [i]the Law before God is evident; for, “[j](L)the righteous one will live by faith.” 12 [k]However, the Law is not [l]of faith; on the contrary, “(M)The person who performs [m]them will live by [n]them.” 13 Christ (N)redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written: “(O)Cursed is everyone who hangs on (P)a [o]tree”— 14 in order that (Q)in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, so that we (R)would receive (S)the promise of the Spirit through faith.

So then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles(A) among you by the works of the law or by hearing with faith?[a]

Just as Abraham believed God,(B) and it was credited to him for righteousness,(C)[b] then understand that those who have faith are Abraham’s sons.(D) Now the Scripture saw in advance that God would justify the Gentiles by faith and told the good news ahead of time to Abraham,(E) saying, All the nations will be blessed through you.(F)[c] So those who have faith are blessed with Abraham,(G) who had faith.[d]

Law and Promise

10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse,(H) because it is written:(I) Everyone who does not continue doing everything written in the book of the law is cursed.(J)[e] 11 Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous will live(K) by faith.(L)[f] 12 But the law is not based on faith; instead, the one who does these things will live by them.(M)[g] 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us,(N) because it is written: Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.(O)[h] 14 The purpose was that the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles by Christ Jesus, so that we could receive the promised Spirit through faith.(P)
