2 I went up in obedience to a revelation, and I explained to them the Good News as I proclaim it among the Gentiles — but privately, to the acknowledged leaders. I did this out of concern that my current or previous work might have been in vain.
3 But they didn’t force my Gentile companion Titus to undergo b’rit-milah. 4 Indeed, the question came up only because some men who pretended to be brothers had been sneaked in — they came in surreptitiously to spy out the freedom we have in the Messiah Yeshua, so that they might enslave us.

2 I went in response to a revelation(A) and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles.(B) I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race(C) in vain. 3 Yet not even Titus,(D) who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek.(E) 4 This matter arose because some false believers(F) had infiltrated our ranks to spy on(G) the freedom(H) we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves.
