36 În Iope, era o uceniţă numită Tabita, nume care, în tălmăcire, se zice Dorca. Ea făcea o mulţime de(A) fapte bune şi milostenii. 37 În vremea aceea, s-a îmbolnăvit şi a murit. După ce au scăldat-o, au pus-o într-o odaie de sus(B). 38 Fiindcă Lida este aproape de Iope, ucenicii, când au auzit că Petru este acolo, au trimis doi oameni la el să-l roage: „Nu pregeta să vii până la noi”. 39 Petru s-a sculat şi a plecat împreună cu ei. Când a sosit, l-au dus în odaia de sus. Toate văduvele l-au înconjurat plângând şi i-au arătat hainele şi cămăşile pe care le făcea Dorca pe când era cu ele. 40 Petru a scos(C) pe toată lumea afară, a îngenuncheat(D) şi s-a rugat, apoi, s-a întors spre trup şi a(E) zis: „Tabita, scoală-te!” Ea a deschis ochii şi, când a văzut pe Petru, a stat în capul oaselor. 41 El i-a dat mâna şi a ridicat-o în sus. A chemat îndată pe sfinţi şi pe văduve şi le-a pus-o înainte vie. 42 Minunea aceasta a fost cunoscută în toată cetatea Iope, şi(F) mulţi au crezut în Domnul. 43 Petru a rămas multe zile în Iope la un tăbăcar numit Simon(G).

Au spălat-o şi au pus-o în camera de sus. 38 Lida este aproape de Iafo; prin urmare, când au auzit că Petru este în Lida[b], ucenicii au trimis doi bărbaţi să-l roage: „Nu ezita să vii până la noi!“ 39 Petru s-a sculat şi a plecat împreună cu ei. Când a ajuns, l-au condus în camera de sus. Toate văduvele au venit lângă el, plângând şi arătându-i tunicile şi hainele pe care le făcea Dorca pe când era cu ele. 40 Petru i-a scos afară pe toţi, a îngenuncheat şi s-a rugat; apoi s-a întors spre trup şi a zis: „Tabita, scoală-te!“ Ea a deschis ochii şi, când l-a văzut pe Petru, s-a ridicat. 41 El i-a dat mâna şi a ridicat-o; apoi i-a chemat pe sfinţi şi pe văduve şi le-a înfăţişat-o vie. 42 Acest fapt a devenit cunoscut prin tot Iafo şi mulţi au crezut în Domnul. 43 Petru a rămas mai multe zile în Iafo, la un anume Simon, un tăbăcar.

36 In Joppa(A) there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good(B) and helping the poor. 37 About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room.(C) 38 Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples(D) heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Please come at once!”
39 Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows(E) stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.
40 Peter sent them all out of the room;(F) then he got down on his knees(G) and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.”(H) She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. 41 He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. 42 This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.(I) 43 Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon.(J)
