Las aguas salutíferas

47 Me hizo volver luego a la entrada de la casa; y he aquí aguas que salían de debajo del umbral de la casa(A) hacia el oriente; porque la fachada de la casa estaba al oriente, y las aguas descendían de debajo, hacia el lado derecho de la casa, al sur del altar. 2 Y me sacó por el camino de la puerta del norte, y me hizo dar la vuelta por el camino exterior, fuera de la puerta, al camino de la que mira al oriente; y vi que las aguas salían del lado derecho.

3 Y salió el varón hacia el oriente, llevando un cordel en su mano; y midió mil codos, y me hizo pasar por las aguas hasta los tobillos. 4 Midió otros mil, y me hizo pasar por las aguas hasta las rodillas. Midió luego otros mil, y me hizo pasar por las aguas hasta los lomos. 5 Midió otros mil, y era ya un río que yo no podía pasar, porque las aguas habían crecido de manera que el río no se podía pasar sino a nado. 6 Y me dijo: ¿Has visto, hijo de hombre?

Después me llevó, y me hizo volver por la ribera del río. 7 Y volviendo yo, vi que en la ribera del río había muchísimos árboles a uno y otro lado. 8 Y me dijo: Estas aguas salen a la región del oriente, y descenderán al Arabá, y entrarán en el mar; y entradas en el mar, recibirán sanidad las aguas. 9 Y toda alma viviente que nadare por dondequiera que entraren estos dos ríos, vivirá; y habrá muchísimos peces por haber entrado allá estas aguas, y recibirán sanidad; y vivirá todo lo que entrare en este río. 10 Y junto a él estarán los pescadores, y desde En-gadi hasta En-eglaim será su tendedero de redes; y por sus especies serán los peces tan numerosos como los peces del Mar Grande. 11 Sus pantanos y sus lagunas no se sanearán; quedarán para salinas. 12 Y junto al río, en la ribera, a uno y otro lado, crecerá toda clase de árboles frutales; sus hojas nunca caerán, ni faltará su fruto. A su tiempo madurará, porque sus aguas salen del santuario; y su fruto será para comer, y su hoja para medicina.

Límites y repartición de la tierra

13 Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Estos son los límites en que repartiréis la tierra por heredad entre las doce tribus de Israel. José tendrá dos partes. 14 Y la heredaréis así los unos como los otros; por ella alcé mi mano jurando que la había de dar a vuestros padres; por tanto, esta será la tierra de vuestra heredad.

15 Y este será el límite de la tierra hacia el lado del norte; desde el Mar Grande, camino de Hetlón viniendo a Zedad, 16 Hamat, Berota, Sibraim, que está entre el límite de Damasco y el límite de Hamat; Hazar-haticón, que es el límite de Haurán. 17 Y será el límite del norte desde el mar hasta Hazar-enán en el límite de Damasco al norte, y al límite de Hamat al lado del norte.

18 Del lado del oriente, en medio de Haurán y de Damasco, y de Galaad y de la tierra de Israel, al Jordán; esto mediréis de límite hasta el mar oriental.

19 Del lado meridional, hacia el sur, desde Tamar hasta las aguas de las rencillas; desde Cades y el arroyo hasta el Mar Grande; y esto será el lado meridional, al sur.

20 Del lado del occidente el Mar Grande será el límite hasta enfrente de la entrada de Hamat; este será el lado occidental.

21 Repartiréis, pues, esta tierra entre vosotros según las tribus de Israel. 22 Y echaréis sobre ella suertes por heredad para vosotros, y para los extranjeros que moran entre vosotros, que entre vosotros han engendrado hijos; y los tendréis como naturales entre los hijos de Israel; echarán suertes con vosotros para tener heredad entre las tribus de Israel. 23 En la tribu en que morare el extranjero, allí le daréis su heredad, ha dicho Jehová el Señor.

Water from the Temple

47 Then he brought me back to the (A)door of the house; and behold, (B)water was flowing from under the threshold of the house toward the east, for the house faced east. And the water was flowing down from under, from the right side of the house, from south of the altar. 2 And he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around [a]on the outside to the outer gate, by the way facing east. And behold, water was spurting out from the south side.

3 When the man went out toward the east with a line in his hand, he measured a thousand [b]cubits, and he led me through the water, water reaching the ankles. 4 Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the knees. Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the [c]hips. 5 Again he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not [d]wade across, because the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a (C)river that could not be crossed by wading. 6 And he said to me, “Son of man, have you (D)seen this?” Then he brought me [e]back to the bank of the river. 7 Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river there were very many (E)trees on the one side and on the other. 8 Then he said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and go down into the (F)Arabah; then they go toward the [f]sea, being made to flow into the (G)sea, and the waters of the sea become [g]fresh. 9 And it will come about that every living creature which swarms in every place where the [h]river goes, will live. And there will be very many fish, for these waters go there and the others [i]become fresh; so (H)everything will live where the river goes. 10 And it will come about that (I)fishermen will stand beside it; from (J)Engedi to Eneglaim there will be a place for the (K)spreading of nets. Their fish will be according to their kinds, like the fish of the (L)Great Sea, (M)very many. 11 But its swamps and marshes will not become [j]fresh; they will be [k]left for (N)salt. 12 And (O)by the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of (P)trees for food. Their (Q)leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their (R)leaves for healing.”

Boundaries and Division of the Land

13 This is what the Lord [l]God says: “This shall be the (S)boundary by which you shall divide the land for an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel; Joseph shall have two (T)portions. 14 And you shall divide it for an inheritance, each one [m]equally with the other; for I [n](U)swore to give it to your forefathers, and this land shall fall to you [o]as an inheritance.

15 “And this shall be the boundary of the land: on the (V)north side, from the Great Sea by the way of Hethlon, to the entrance of [p](W)Zedad; 16 [q](X)Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of (Y)Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazer-hatticon, which is by the border of Hauran. 17 The boundary shall [r]extend from the sea to (Z)Hazar-enan at the border of Damascus, and on the north toward the north is the border of Hamath. This is the north side.

18 “The (AA)east side, from between Hauran, Damascus, (AB)Gilead, and the land of Israel, shall be the (AC)Jordan; from the north border to the eastern sea you shall measure. This is the east side.

19 “The (AD)south side toward the south shall extend from (AE)Tamar as far as the waters of (AF)Meribath-kadesh, to the (AG)brook of Egypt and to the (AH)Great Sea. This is the south side toward the south.

20 “And the (AI)west side shall be the Great Sea, from the south border to a point opposite [s](AJ)Lebo-hamath. This is the west side.

21 “So you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. 22 You shall divide it by (AK)lot for an inheritance among yourselves and among the (AL)strangers who stay in your midst, who bring forth sons in your midst. And they shall be to you as the native-born among the sons of Israel; they shall be allotted an (AM)inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. 23 And in the tribe with which the stranger resides, there you shall give him his inheritance,” declares the Lord God.
