Ezekiel 29:10-12

10 therefore, behold, I am (A)against you and against your [a]canals, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from Migdol to Syene and as far as the border of [b]Cush. 11 A human foot will (B)not pass through it, nor will the foot of an animal pass through it, and it will not be inhabited for forty years. 12 So I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the (C)midst of deserted lands. And her cities, in the midst of cities that are laid waste, will be desolate for forty years; and I will (D)scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the lands.”

10 therefore I am against you(A) and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt(B) a ruin and a desolate waste(C) from Migdol(D) to Aswan,(E) as far as the border of Cush.[a](F) 11 The foot of neither man nor beast will pass through it; no one will live there for forty years.(G) 12 I will make the land of Egypt desolate(H) among devastated lands, and her cities will lie desolate forty years among ruined cities. And I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.(I)

And execute judgments on [c](E)Thebes.
15 I will pour out My wrath on [d]Sin,
The stronghold of Egypt;
I will also eliminate the hordes of [e]Thebes.
16 I will set a fire in Egypt;
[f]Sin will writhe in anguish,
[g]Thebes will be breached
And [h]Memphis will have [i]distresses daily.
17 The young men of [j](F)On and of Pi-beseth
Will fall by the sword,
And [k]the women will go into captivity.
18 In (G)Tehaphnehes the day will [l]be (H)dark
When I (I)break there the yoke bars of Egypt.
Then the pride of her power will cease in her;
A cloud will cover her,
And her daughters will go into captivity.
19 So I will (J)execute judgments on Egypt,
And they will know that I am the Lord.”’”

13 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“‘I will destroy the idols(A)
and put an end to the images in Memphis.(B)
No longer will there be a prince in Egypt,(C)
and I will spread fear throughout the land.
14 I will lay(D) waste Upper Egypt,
set fire to Zoan(E)
and inflict punishment on Thebes.(F)
15 I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium,
the stronghold of Egypt,
and wipe out the hordes of Thebes.
16 I will set fire(G) to Egypt;
Pelusium will writhe in agony.
Thebes will be taken by storm;
Memphis(H) will be in constant distress.
17 The young men of Heliopolis(I) and Bubastis
will fall by the sword,
and the cities themselves will go into captivity.
18 Dark will be the day at Tahpanhes(J)
when I break the yoke of Egypt;(K)
there her proud strength will come to an end.
She will be covered with clouds,
and her villages will go into captivity.(L)
19 So I will inflict punishment(M) on Egypt,
and they will know that I am the Lord.’”
