Ezekiel 20:3-5

3 “Son of man,[a] speak with the elders of Israel, and you must say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Are you coming to consult me? As I live,[b] I will surely not allow myself[c] to be consulted by you!”’ declares[d] the Lord Yahweh. 4 Will you judge them? Will you judge them, son of man?[e] Make known to them the detestable things of their ancestors.[f] 5 And you must say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “On the day of my choosing Israel I swore[g] to the offspring of the house of Jacob, and I made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, and I swore[h] to them, saying,[i] ‘I am Yahweh your God.’

3 “Son of man, speak to the elders(A) of Israel and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Have you come to inquire(B) of me? As surely as I live, I will not let you inquire of me, declares the Sovereign Lord.(C)’
4 “Will you judge them? Will you judge them, son of man? Then confront them with the detestable practices of their ancestors(D) 5 and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On the day I chose(E) Israel, I swore with uplifted hand(F) to the descendants of Jacob and revealed myself to them in Egypt. With uplifted hand I said to them, “I am the Lord your God.(G)”
