Ezekiel 1:28-3:4

28 Like the appearance of the (A)rainbow [a]in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the (B)glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I (C)fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.
The Prophet’s Call
2 Then He said to me, “Son of man, (D)stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.” 2 And as He spoke to me the (E)Spirit entered me and set me on my feet; and I heard Him speaking to me. 3 Then He said to me, “Son of man, I am sending you to the sons of Israel, to a rebellious people who have (F)rebelled against Me; (G)they and their fathers have revolted against Me to this very day. 4 So I am sending you to those who are [b](H)impudent and obstinate children, and you shall say to them, ‘This is what the Lord [c]God says:’ 5 As for them, (I)whether they listen or [d]not—for they are a rebellious house—they will (J)know that a prophet has been among them. 6 And as for you, son of man, you are (K)not to fear them nor fear their words, though (L)thistles and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions; you are not to fear their words nor be dismayed at their presence, since they are a rebellious house. 7 But you shall (M)speak My words to them (N)whether they listen or [e]not, for they are rebellious.
8 “Now you, son of man, listen to what I am speaking to you; do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth wide and (O)eat what I am giving you.” 9 Then I looked, and behold, a (P)hand was extended to me; and behold, a [f](Q)scroll was in it. 10 When He spread it out before me, it was written on the front and back, and written on it were songs of mourning, sighing, and (R)woe.
Ezekiel’s Commission
3 Then He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; (S)eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” 2 So I (T)opened my mouth, and He fed me this scroll. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your stomach and (U)fill your [g]body with this scroll which I am giving you.” Then I (V)ate it, and it was as sweet as (W)honey in my mouth.
4 Then He said to me, “Son of man, [h]go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them.
