The Shining Face of Moses

29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with (A)the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face (B)shone because he had been talking with God.[a] 30 Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face (C)shone, and they were afraid to come near him. 31 But Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses talked with them. 32 Afterward all the people of Israel came near, and he (D)commanded them all that the Lord had spoken with him in Mount Sinai. 33 And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a (E)veil over his face.

34 Whenever Moses (F)went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would remove the veil, until he came out. And when he came out and told the people of Israel what he was commanded, 35 the people of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face was (G)shining. And Moses would put the veil over his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

Sabbath Regulations

35 Moses assembled all the congregation of the people of Israel and said to them, (H)“These are the things that the Lord has commanded you to do. (I)Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. (J)You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.”

Contributions for the Tabernacle

Moses said to all the congregation of the people of Israel, “This is the thing that the Lord has commanded. (K)Take from among you a contribution to the Lord. (L)Whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the Lord's contribution: gold, silver, and bronze; blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen; goats' hair, tanned rams' skins, and goatskins;[b] acacia wood, oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, and onyx stones and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.

10 “Let (M)every skillful craftsman among you come and make all that the Lord has commanded: 11 (N)the tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its frames, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; 12 (O)the ark with its poles, the mercy seat, and the (P)veil of the screen; 13 (Q)the table with its poles and all its utensils, and the (R)bread of the Presence; 14 (S)the lampstand also for the light, with its utensils and its lamps, and the (T)oil for the light; 15 (U)and the altar of incense, with its poles, (V)and the anointing oil and the (W)fragrant incense, and (X)the screen for the door, at the door of the tabernacle; 16 (Y)the altar of burnt offering, with its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its utensils, the (Z)basin and its stand; 17 (AA)the hangings of the court, its pillars and its bases, and the screen for the gate of the court; 18 (AB)the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the court, and their (AC)cords; 19 the (AD)finely worked garments for ministering[c] in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, for their service as priests.”

20 Then all the congregation of the people of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. 21 And they came, (AE)everyone whose heart stirred him, and everyone whose spirit moved him, (AF)and brought the Lord's contribution to be used for the tent of meeting, and for all its service, and for the holy garments.

The Radiant Face of Moses

29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai(A) with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands,(B) he was not aware that his face was radiant(C) because he had spoken with the Lord. 30 When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him. 31 But Moses called to them; so Aaron and all the leaders of the community(D) came back to him, and he spoke to them. 32 Afterward all the Israelites came near him, and he gave them all the commands(E) the Lord had given him on Mount Sinai.

33 When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil(F) over his face. 34 But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, 35 they saw that his face was radiant.(G) Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord.

Sabbath Regulations

35 Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, “These are the things the Lord has commanded(H) you to do: For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a day of sabbath(I) rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death.(J) Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.(K)

Materials for the Tabernacle(L)(M)

Moses said to the whole Israelite community, “This is what the Lord has commanded: From what you have, take an offering for the Lord. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the Lord an offering of gold, silver and bronze; blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather[a]; acacia wood; olive oil(N) for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.

10 “All who are skilled among you are to come and make everything the Lord has commanded:(O) 11 the tabernacle(P) with its tent and its covering, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases; 12 the ark(Q) with its poles and the atonement cover and the curtain(R) that shields it; 13 the table(S) with its poles and all its articles and the bread of the Presence; 14 the lampstand(T) that is for light with its accessories, lamps and oil for the light; 15 the altar(U) of incense with its poles, the anointing oil(V) and the fragrant incense;(W) the curtain for the doorway at the entrance to the tabernacle;(X) 16 the altar(Y) of burnt offering with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the bronze basin(Z) with its stand; 17 the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard;(AA) 18 the tent pegs(AB) for the tabernacle and for the courtyard, and their ropes; 19 the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary—both the sacred garments(AC) for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests.”

20 Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses’ presence, 21 and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work on the tent of meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.
