11 So (A)the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but (B)his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

12 Then Moses said to the Lord, “See, (C)You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, (D)‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’ 13 Now therefore, I pray, (E)if I have found grace in Your sight, (F)show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is (G)Your people.”
14 And He said, (H)“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you (I)rest.”

11 The Lord would speak to Moses face to face,(A) as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua(B) son of Nun did not leave the tent.
Moses and the Glory of the Lord
12 Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’(C) but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name(D) and you have found favor(E) with me.’ 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways(F) so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”(G)
14 The Lord replied, “My Presence(H) will go with you, and I will give you rest.”(I)
