20 Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid.(A) God has come to test(B) you, so that the fear(C) of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”(D)
21 The people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness(E) where God was.

22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites this: ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven:(F) 23 Do not make any gods to be alongside me;(G) do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.(H)

20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22 And the Lord said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
