38 “This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day:(A) two lambs a year old. 39 Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.(B) 40 With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah[a] of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin[b] of oil(C) from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.(D) 41 Sacrifice the other lamb at twilight(E) with the same grain offering(F) and its drink offering as in the morning—a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.

42 “For the generations to come(G) this burnt offering is to be made regularly(H) at the entrance to the tent of meeting,(I) before the Lord. There I will meet you and speak to you;(J) 43 there also I will meet with the Israelites, and the place will be consecrated by my glory.(K)

44 “So I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar and will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.(L) 45 Then I will dwell(M) among the Israelites and be their God.(N) 46 They will know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of Egypt(O) so that I might dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.(P)

The Altar of Incense(Q)

30 “Make an altar(R) of acacia wood for burning incense.(S) It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high[c]—its horns(T) of one piece with it. Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold molding around it.(U) Make two gold rings(V) for the altar below the molding—two on each of the opposite sides—to hold the poles used to carry it. Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.(W) Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law—before the atonement cover(X) that is over the tablets of the covenant law—where I will meet with you.

“Aaron must burn fragrant incense(Y) on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps. He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the Lord for the generations to come.(Z) Do not offer on this altar any other incense(AA) or any burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it. 10 Once a year(AB) Aaron shall make atonement(AC) on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering[d](AD) for the generations to come.(AE) It is most holy to the Lord.”

Atonement Money

11 Then the Lord said to Moses, 12 “When you take a census(AF) of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the Lord a ransom(AG) for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague(AH) will come on them when you number them. 13 Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel,[e] according to the sanctuary shekel,(AI) which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the Lord. 14 All who cross over, those twenty years old or more,(AJ) are to give an offering to the Lord. 15 The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less(AK) when you make the offering to the Lord to atone for your lives. 16 Receive the atonement(AL) money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the tent of meeting.(AM) It will be a memorial(AN) for the Israelites before the Lord, making atonement for your lives.”

Basin for Washing

17 Then the Lord said to Moses, 18 “Make a bronze basin,(AO) with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 19 Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet(AP) with water(AQ) from it. 20 Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die.(AR) Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord, 21 they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance(AS) for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”(AT)

Gethsemane(A)

36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee(B) along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow(C) to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”(D)

39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup(E) be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”(F)

40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me(G) for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.(H) The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”(I)

43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. 44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.

45 Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour(J) has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”
