²² that you ^(A)put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, ²³ and ^(B)be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and that you ^(C)put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

^8 (A)But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. ⁹ Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, ¹⁰ and have put on the new man who ^(B)is renewed in knowledge ^(C)according to the image of Him who ^(D)created him, ¹¹ where there is neither ^(E)Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, ^(F)but Christ is all and in all.

Character of the New Man

¹² Therefore, ^(G)as the elect of God, holy and beloved, ^(H)put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; ^13 (I)bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. ^14 (J)But above all these things ^(K)put on love, which is the ^(L)bond of perfection.
