Ephesians 5:18-29

¹⁸And ^(A)do not get drunk with wine, for that is ^(B)debauchery, but ^(C)be filled with the Spirit, ¹⁹addressing one another in ^(D)psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, ²⁰^(E)giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father ^(F)in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, ²¹^(G)submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Wives and Husbands

²²^(H)Wives, ^(I)submit to your own husbands, ^(J)as to the Lord. ²³For ^(K)the husband is the head of the wife even as ^(L)Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is ^(M)himself its Savior. ²⁴Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit ^(N)in everything to their husbands.

²⁵^(O)Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and ^(P)gave himself up for her, ²⁶that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by ^(Q)the washing of water ^(R)with the word, ²⁷so ^(S)that he might present the church to himself in splendor, ^(T)without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.^[a] ²⁸In the same way ^(U)husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. ²⁹For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,
