13 But when (A)anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, 14 for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

(B)“Awake, O sleeper,
    and (C)arise from the dead,
and (D)Christ will shine on you.”

15 (E)Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 (F)making the best use of the time, because (G)the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what (H)the will of the Lord is. 18 And (I)do not get drunk with wine, for that is (J)debauchery, but (K)be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in (L)psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 (M)giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father (N)in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 (O)submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Instead, be filled with the Spirit,(J) 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit.(K) Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks(L) to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Instructions for Christian Households(M)

21 Submit to one another(N) out of reverence for Christ.

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands(O) as you do to the Lord.(P) 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church,(Q) his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands(R) in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives,(S) just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her(T) 26 to make her holy,(U) cleansing[a] her by the washing(V) with water through the word,
