¹⁹ Pray also for me,^(A) that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly^(B) make known the mystery^(C) of the gospel, ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador^(D) in chains.^(E) Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

²⁷ What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. ²⁸ Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One^(A) who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

²⁹ Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.^(A)

³¹ He proclaimed the kingdom of God^(A) and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness^(B) and without hindrance!

²¹ that^[a] the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay^(A) and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.^(B)

⁵ For in him you have been enriched^(A) in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge^(B)— ⁶ God thus confirming our testimony^(C) about Christ among you.

¹⁷ Now the Lord is the Spirit,^(A) and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.^(B)

Freedom in Christ

5 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.^(A) Stand firm,^(B) then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.^(C)

³ And pray for us, too, that God may open a door^(A) for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery^(B) of Christ, for which I am in chains.^{(C) 4} Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. ⁵ Be wise^(D) in the way you act toward outsiders;^(E) make the most of every opportunity.^{(F) 6} Let your conversation be always full of grace,^(G) seasoned with salt,^(H) so that you may know how to answer everyone.^(I)
