Ecclesiastes 2:10-11
New American Standard Bible
10 (A)All that my eyes desired, I did not refuse them. I did not restrain my heart from any pleasure, for my heart was pleased because of all my labor; and this was my (B)reward for all my labor. 11 So I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labor which I had [a]exerted, and behold, all was (C)futility and striving after wind, and there was (D)no benefit under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 2:10-11
New International Version
10 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;

My heart took delight in all my labor,

11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;(A)
nothing was gained under the sun.(B)
Ecclesiastes 4:8

Ecclesiastes 4:8
New International Version
8 There was a man all alone;
he had neither son nor brother.
There was no end to his toil,
yet his eyes were not content(A) with his wealth.
“For whom am I toiling,” he asked,
“and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?”
This too is meaningless—
a miserable business!
