15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites.(A) You must listen to him. 16 For this is what you asked of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.”(B)

17 The Lord said to me: “What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet(C) like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words(D) in his mouth.(E) He will tell them everything I command him.(F)

he says:
“It is too small a thing for you to be my servant(A)
to restore the tribes of Jacob
and bring back those of Israel I have kept.(B)
I will also make you a light(C) for the Gentiles,(D)
that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”(E)

He made my mouth(A) like a sharpened sword,(B)
    in the shadow of his hand(C) he hid me;
he made me into a polished arrow(D)
and concealed me in his quiver.
He said to me, “You are my servant,(E)

and my reward(I) is with my God.”(J)

And now the Lord says—
he who formed me in the womb(K) to be his servant
to bring Jacob back to him
    and gather Israel(L) to himself,
for I am[a] honored(M) in the eyes of the Lord
and my God has been my strength(N)
he says:
“It is too small a thing for you to be my servant(O)
to restore the tribes of Jacob
and bring back those of Israel I have kept.(P)
I will also make you a light(Q) for the Gentiles,(R)
that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”(S)

This is what the Lord says—
the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel(T)
to him who was despised(U) and abhorred by the nation,
    to the servant of rulers:
“Kings(V) will see you and stand up,
princes will see and bow down,(W)
because of the Lord, who is faithful,(X)
the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen(Y) you.”
