Deuteronomy 8:16-18

16 who fed you in the wilderness with (A)manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, (B)to do you good in the end. 17 Beware (C)lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ 18 You shall remember the Lord your God, for (D)it is he who gives you power to get wealth, (E)that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

16 He gave you manna(A) to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known,(B) to humble and test(C) you so that in the end it might go well with you. 17 You may say to yourself,(D) “My power and the strength of my hands(E) have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth,(F) and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
