²⁴ For the Lord your God is a devouring fire, a jealous God.^(A)

⁵ You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me^(A)

¹² From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence,^[a] and violent people take it by force.^(A)

² And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mixed with fire and those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands.^(A)
