Deuteronomy 24:6

New International Version

⁶Do not take a pair of millstones—not even the upper one—as security for a debt, because that would be taking a person’s livelihood as security.^(A)

⁶No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh a man's life to pledge.

²⁴Its chest is hard as rock,
hard as a lower millstone.^(A)

²⁴His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.

²Take millstones^(A) and grind^(B) flour;
take off your veil.^(C)
Lift up your skirts,^(D) bare your legs,
and wade through the streams.

²Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
