⁵ But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be ^(A)put to death, because he has ^[a]counseled ^[b]rebellion against the Lord your God who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of ^[c]slavery, ^(B)to seduce you from the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. ^(C)So you shall purge the evil from among you.

²⁰ But the prophet who speaks a word ^(A)presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or ^(B)which he speaks in the name of other gods, ^[a]that prophet shall die.’

²⁴ Then they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings.

Now Jehu had stationed for himself eighty men outside, and he had said, “^(A)The one who permits any of the men whom I bring into your hands to escape ^[a]shall give up his life in exchange.”

²⁵ Then it came about, as soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the ^[b](B)guard and to the royal officers, “^(C)Go in, ^[c]kill them; let none come out.” And they ^[d]killed them with the edge of the sword; and the ^[e]guard and the royal officers threw them out, and went to the ^[f]inner room of the house of Baal.
