Deuteronomy 11:10-12

Amplified Bible

¹⁰For the land which you are entering to possess is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and watered ^[a]it with your foot like a garden of vegetables. ¹¹But the land into which you are about to cross to possess, a land of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven, ¹²a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.

Deuteronomy 11:10 Egyptian crops were watered by irrigation, so this may refer to a simple irrigation device that was operated by the foot, or to the practice of opening and closing small water channels with the foot.

¹⁰For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:

¹¹But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:

¹²A land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

¹⁰The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt,^(A) from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. ¹¹But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys^(B) that drinks rain from heaven.^(C) ¹²It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes^(D) of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.
