^2 (A)You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

² “Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand in ^(A)the court of the Lord’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the Lord’s house, ^(B)all the words that I command you to speak to them. ^(C)Do not diminish a word.

Fools for Christ’s Sake

⁶ Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be ^[a]puffed up on behalf of one against the other.

Only One Gospel

⁶ I marvel that you are turning away so soon ^(A)from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, ^7 (B)which is not another; but there are some ^(C)who trouble you and want to ^(D)pervert^[a] the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But even if ^(E)we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be ^[b]accursed. ⁹ As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you ^(F)than what you have received, let him be accursed.

The Changeless Promise^(A)

¹⁵ Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: ^(B)Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. ¹⁶ Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of ^(C)one, ^(D)“And to your Seed,” who is ^(E)Christ. ¹⁷ And this I say, that the law, ^(F)which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God ^[a]in Christ, ^(G)that it should make the promise of no effect.

^19 [a]And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a ^(A)light that shines in a dark place, ^(B)until ^(C)the day dawns and the morning star rises in your ^(D)hearts; ²⁰ knowing this first, that ^(E)no prophecy of Scripture is of any private ^[b]interpretation, ²¹ for ^(F)prophecy never came by the will of man, ^(G)but ^[c]holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

^8 (A)Look to yourselves, ^(B)that ^[a]we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.

^9 (C)Whoever ^[b]transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If anyone comes to you and ^(D)does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; ¹¹ for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

A Warning

^18 [a]For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: ^(A)If anyone adds to these things, ^[b]God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; ¹⁹ and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, ^(B)God^[c] shall take away his part from the ^[d]Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
