Deuteronomy 11:18-23

¹⁸^(A)“You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and ^(B)you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. ¹⁹You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. ²⁰^(C)You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, ²¹^(D)that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, ^(E)as long as the heavens are above the earth. ²²For if ^(F)you will be careful to do all this commandment that I command you to do, loving the Lord your God, walking in all his ways, and ^(G)holding fast to him, ²³then the Lord ^(H)will drive out all these nations before you, and you will ^(I)dispossess nations greater and mightier than you.

¹⁸“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. ¹⁹Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. ²⁰Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, ²¹so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors.

²²“Be careful to obey all these commands I am giving you. Show love to the Lord your God by walking in his ways and holding tightly to him. ²³Then the Lord will drive out all the nations ahead of you, though they are much greater and stronger than you, and you will take over their land.

¹⁸Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.^(A) ¹⁹Teach them to your children,^(B) talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.^(C) ²⁰Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates,^(D) ²¹so that your days and the days of your children may be many^(E) in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.^(F)

²²If you carefully observe^(G) all these commands I am giving you to follow—to love^(H) the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him and to hold fast^(I) to him— ²³then the Lord will drive out^(J) all these nations^(K) before you, and you will dispossess nations larger and stronger than you.^(L)
