24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was (A)astonished and rose up (B)in haste. He declared to his (C)counselors, “Did we not cast three men (D)bound into the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” 25 He answered and said, “But I see four men unbound, (E)walking in the midst of the fire, and they (F)are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like (G)a son of the gods.”

26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the door of the burning fiery furnace; he declared, (H)“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the (I)Most High God, come out, and come here!” Then (J)Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out from the fire. 27 And the (K)satraps, the prefects, the governors, and (L)the king's counselors gathered together and saw that (M)the fire had not had any power over the bodies of those men. The hair of their heads was not singed, their (N)cloaks were not harmed, and no smell of fire had come upon them. 28 Nebuchadnezzar answered and said, “Blessed be the God of (O)Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who (P)has sent his angel and (Q)delivered his servants, who (R)trusted in him, and set aside[a] the king's command, and yielded up their bodies rather than (S)serve and worship any god except their own God. 29 Therefore (T)I make a decree: Any (U)people, nation, or language that speaks anything against the God of (V)Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (W)shall be torn limb from limb, and their houses laid in ruins, for there is no other god who is able to rescue in this way.” 30 Then the king promoted (X)Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in (Y)the province of Babylon.

  1. Daniel 3:28 Aramaic and changed

24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”

They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”

25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God,(A) come out! Come here!”

So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, 27 and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers(B) crowded around them.(C) They saw that the fire(D) had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel(E) and rescued(F) his servants! They trusted(G) in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.(H) 29 Therefore I decree(I) that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble,(J) for no other god can save(K) in this way.”

30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.(L)
