2 that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in love, to have all the riches of assured understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, of Christ, 3 in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I say this in order that no one may delude you with beguiling speech. 5 For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ.
Fullness of Life in Christ
6 As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
8 See to it that no one makes a prey of you by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ. 9 For in him the whole fulness of deity dwells bodily, 10 and you have come to fulness of life in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart(A) and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery(B) of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.(C) 4 I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.(D) 5 For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit(E) and delight to see how disciplined(F) you are and how firm(G) your faith in Christ(H) is.
Spiritual Fullness in Christ
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,(I) continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted(J) and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught,(K) and overflowing with thankfulness.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy,(L) which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces[a] of this world(M) rather than on Christ.
9 For in Christ all the fullness(N) of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head(O) over every power and authority.(P)
