11 Therefore, thus says the Lord God,

“An (A)enemy, even one surrounding the land,
Will pull down your [a]strength from you
And your (B)citadels will be looted.”

12 Thus says the Lord,

“Just as the shepherd [b](C)snatches from the lion’s mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear,
So will the sons of Israel dwelling in Samaria be [c]snatched away—
With the (D)corner of a bed and the [d](E)cover of a couch!
13 “Hear and (F)testify against the house of Jacob,”
Declares the Lord God, the God of hosts.

    only two leg bones or a piece of an ear,
so will the Israelites living in Samaria be rescued,
    with only the head of a bed
    and a piece of fabric[a] from a couch.[b](C)

13 “Hear this and testify(D) against the descendants of Jacob,” declares the Lord, the Lord God Almighty.
