³⁸ Peter said to them, “^(A)Repent, and each of you be ^(B)baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ Now when ^(A)the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them ^(B)Peter and John, ¹⁵ who came down and prayed for them ^(C)that they would receive the Holy Spirit. ¹⁶ (For He had ^(D)not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been ^(E)baptized ^[a]in the name of the Lord Jesus.) ¹⁷ Then they ^(F)began laying their hands on them, and they were ^(G)receiving the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, ¹⁹ saying, “Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

¹⁷ So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after ^(A)laying his hands on him said, “^(B)Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be ^(C)filled with the Holy Spirit.” ¹⁸ And immediately something like fish scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized;

⁴⁴ While Peter was still speaking these words, ^(A)the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the ^[a]message. ^45 (B)All the ^[b]Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had also been ^(C)poured out on the Gentiles. ⁴⁶ For they were hearing them ^(D)speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter responded, ⁴⁷ “^(E)Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized, who ^(F)have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” ⁴⁸ And he ^(G)ordered them to be baptized ^(H)in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.

⁴ Paul said, “^(A)John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people ^(B)to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” ⁵ When they heard this, they were ^(C)baptized ^[a]in the name of the Lord Jesus. ⁶ And when Paul had ^(D)laid hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they began ^(E)speaking with tongues and ^(F)prophesying.
